Hello, Bridget Jones here.
As we dive into the hustle and bustle of the year ahead, I wanted to take a moment to check in and remind you of the importance of slowing down and nurturing yourself along the way. It’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of everyday life, but it’s crucial to remember that self-care isn’t selfish—it’s a necessary act of self-love and preservation.
What prompts me to write to you is that it’s my first day back from 11 days away. I took a self-care trip away to Bali. And after being away to come back home I can feel this immediate tension in my body. Using the tools that I have learnt over the years I asked myself. What do I need right now? And how can I stay in a calm state for longer? My personal answers were to get back in the habit of daily mediation, get back into regular exercise, and more time out by booking in my massages ahead of time. It’s ironic how I run two massage businesses but barely “make the time” to have a massage myself.
So my message to you is to take a moment to pause and ask yourself: “What do I need?” and “How can I practice better self-care?” Whether it’s more rest time, moments of quiet reflection, or simply indulging in activities that bring you joy, tuning into your body and mind is key to maintaining balance and well-being.
Here are a few self-care tips to help you prioritize yourself:
- Book a Massage: There’s nothing quite like the healing touch of a massage to melt away tension, alleviate stress, and promote relaxation. Treat yourself to a rejuvenating massage session to soothe both your body and mind.
- Practice Mindfulness: Set aside a few minutes each day to practice mindfulness meditation or deep breathing exercises. Mindfulness can help you cultivate a sense of calm and presence, allowing you to navigate life’s challenges with grace and ease.
- Nourish Your Body: Fuel your body with nutritious foods that nourish and energize you from the inside out. Remember to stay hydrated and prioritize regular meals to support your overall health and well-being.
- Move Your Body: Engaging in activities that make you feel alive and vibrant. Whether it’s yoga, dancing, or simply taking a stroll outdoors, find ways to move your body that bring you pleasure. Ask a friend to join you!
- Unplug and Recharge: Disconnect from the digital world from time to time and carve out space for rest and relaxation. Set boundaries around screen time and create moments of stillness to recharge your batteries and replenish your spirit.
Remember, self-care is a journey, not a destination. Be gentle with yourself as you navigate the ups and downs of life, and remember that you are worthy of love, care, and kindness—always.
If you’re in need of some extra TLC, don’t hesitate to reach out and schedule your next massage appointment. I’m here to support you on your wellness journey every step of the way.
With warm regards
